Officials announce lane closures for gas line work

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Drivers in Newport should be aware of lane closures until Friday at 5 p.m.

The Newport Police Department announced that from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Bellevue Avenue between Memorial Blvd and East Bowery will be reduced to southbound traffic only.

There will be gas line work in the northbound lane of Bellevue Avenue.

All northbound traffic on Bellevue Avenue will be detoured down East Bowery, to Freebody, to Memorial Blvd.
