Westport Police asking for assistance locating driver who allegedly hit child
WESTPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Westport Police Department is asking the public for assistance identifying a driver who allegedly struck a child.
The department said that around 2:15 p.m. on May 7 a green Kia Soul struck a 12-year-old child riding a bicycle at the intersection of Gifford Road and Old County Road.
The child fell off the bicycle and suffered scrapes on the knees and elbow, and an unidentified female driver got out of the car and asked if the child was okay prior to leaving the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call 508-636-1122 with any information they may have regarding the identity of the driver.
