Quieter weather for Thursday after storms pelt Southern New England with hail
What an evening it was for Southern New England. Severe storms rolled in from central Mass and Connecticut and brought an abundance of hail with them (as well as heavy rain and lightning.
Hail ranged from as small as pea-sized to as large as ping pong-sized! That is on the large side for our neck of the woods.
Calmer weather is expected for the rest of the week, but there will be ample clouds and temperatures will remain on the cooler side.
Both Thursday and Friday won’t be bad, with some time of partial sun, but overall mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles – not terrible. Highs in the mid-60s Thursday but only mid-50s Friday.
Saturday should also be variably cloudy, we’re watching an area of showers that should stay offshore. Mother’s Day will be similar but add in a shower chance, not a washout though.
The cooler and cloudier weather finally subsides on Monday and Tuesday, with brighter skies and highs 65-70°.
