Woonsocket officers to kickoff annual run to DC

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Woonsocket police will kickoff their Copswalk today, in honor of National Police Week.

Since 2001, Woonsocket police have been participating in the walk to raise money in honor of the scarifies fallen officers and their families have made.

Officers will embark on a 400+ mile run to Washington, D.C.

To date, the Woonsocket police have raised close to a half million dollars.

Residents are invited to stop by the department at 9 a.m. to give officers a send off at 242 Clinton Street.
