Two charged in Providence for straw purchasing guns to be arraigned
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Two individuals charged charged in a firearms trafficking case will be arraigned in court today.
29-year-old Devin Barbosa was charged on May 8 with three counts of straw purchasing a firearm, and one count of conspiracy to straw purchase firearms.
29-year-old Shardaisa Joi Reid was also charged.
According to prosecutors, Barbosa was allegedly supplying Reid with money to buy firearms while he was in jail for a prior conviction.
Barbosa is not allowed to own a gun due to several convictions, including for assault and illegal firearm possession.
Barbosa and Reid will be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court.
