Barrington Police say high school student with knife caused lockdown, early dismissal
BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Barrington Police Department said that a student with a knife at the athletic field at the town’s high school was the cause of a lockdown and early dismissal Friday.
Police said that the department received a call around 8:35 a.m. from the student, who said they had a knife and were at the athletic field adjacent to the main parking lot.
Several officers were able to convince the student to drop the knife, and the student was taken into custody and “transported for evaluation.”
The department added the incident was isolated and involved no other persons.
