Toddler hit by car expected to recover

NORWOOD, Mass. (WLNE) — A toddler is expected to survive after being hit by a car in Norwood on Tuesday.

The three-year-old was outside playing with friends Tuesday night when police say he was hit by a car backing out of a driveway.

According to Norwood police, the toddler has serious injuries to his head and upper body.

Our sister station WCVB reports a medical helicopter flew the boy to Boston Hospital.

Police towed the car involved in the crash away from the scene.
