Rain threat returns for the midweek

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — We were treated to a firey sunrise this morning, but sunshine will otherwise be very limited the next two days.

Showers are possible as we head towards the afternoon hours, but the best chance of rain will be Wednesday night into Thursday. Heavy rain is possible through Thursday morning.

Rain will lighten up but stick around through Thursday evening before skies begin to partially clear, setting up for a brighter day on Friday.

Right now the weekend looks drier than not, but we will at least have ample cloud cover and once again cooler weather.
