Soaking rain arrives tonight, lingers through Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A steady rain is falling across the area this evening and will only intensify as we head into tonight.

A general 1-2″ is expected across the area, but there are indications that parts of South County could get more than that.

Rain will lighten up in the afternoon a tad but stick around through Thursday evening before skies begin to partially clear, setting up for a brighter day on Friday.

Thursday: 58-64
Friday: 63-71

The weekend looks dry, but it will be cloudy and cooler both days. Brighter and warmer days lie ahead for next week.
