Suspect arrested after armed robbery in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Police arrested a suspect Sunday after an armed robbery in Fall River.
The Fall River Police Department said 40-year-old Brandon Medeiros was taken into custody after an incident on Milliken Boulevard.
Police said they responded to reports of an armed robbery around 12:08 a.m. and met a 34-year-old man who said he was robbed at knifepoint.
Officers then found a group of men nearby on South Main Street, one matching the description given by the victim.
Authorities said a subsequent investigation led to the identification of Medeiros, who was arrested for armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police said Medeiros attempted to discard a small plastic bag containing suspected cocaine and fentanyl while being transported to the department for booking.
He was additionally charged with two counts of possession of a Class A Drug as a result.
