Thursday storms pave way for a lovely beginning to Memorial Day weekend
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Wednesday was the warmest day of the year across Southern New England.
T.F. Green reached 85°, and Norwood made it all the way to 90! It was a tad muggy as well, but not too bad.
It will be more humid on Thursday with variably cloudy skies.
An isolated shower is possible during the morning, but the greater threat will be for a strong thunderstorm midday into the afternoon.
Any storm that turns ‘severe’ will be capable of producing some gusty winds and small hail.
These will quickly pass through and things will quiet down during the evening.
Clouds will give way to sun on Friday and it will be a wonderfully warm day with low humidity and highs in the low 80s.
Memorial Day weekend starts off nice with a pair of dry days and highs in the upper 70s, but Memorial Day itself looks cloudier and cooler with a few showers later in the day.
