Seekonk officers honored for saving young girl’s life

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Seekonk Police Department honored two officers Wednesday.

Officers Ortiz and Dumond received the department’s prestigious Life Saving Medal.

The two officers saved the life of a young athlete experiencing a cardiac arrest recently.

Police said the officers’ quick and professional actions are why the girl is still alive.

“We are proud to have them among us,” the department said in a statement. “And proud that we have a whole department of professionals just like them.”
