Connecticut man arrested in connection with Fall River homicide

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said that a man was arrested Thursday in connection with a December 2023 in Willimantic, Connecticut.

28-year-old Lee George Maldonado was indicted on charges of of murder, carrying an illegal firearm, armed kidnapping, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, attempt to commit a crime and two counts of attempted assault and battery by means of a firearm.

On Dec. 23 Fall River Police responded to 911 calls regarding a male shot on Bank Street.

When first responders arrived on scene they located 44-year-old Juan Manuel Batista on the porch suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A co-defendant, 22-year-old Angel Fabian Robles-Nicasio, was arrested in January on charges of murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and conspiracy to traffic cocaine and is currently being held without bail.
