Rescue of a kitten from a busy Florida highway caught on body cam

ALACHUA, Fla. (WLNE) — The Alachua Police Department in Florida is being praised for saving a kitten in the middle of a busy highway last week.

The rescue was caught on the officer’s body camera on Wednesday May 22 when an officer stopped to rescue the kitten off the roadway while cars are seen continuing to pass it.

A truck driver used their truck to assist in stopping traffic, and the kitten was safely removed from danger.

“We’re thrilled to share that this little furball has found a loving forever home with one of our amazing dispatchers,” wrote the department on Facebook.
