Westport Police arrest man for DUI after allegedly crashing, entering home of stranger

WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — The Westport Police Department said that a man was arrested after he allegedly crashed his car and entered a stranger’s home while under the influence of liquor.

Logan McNamara of Central Falls was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.

The department said that on May 26 at 1 a.m. an unknown male was in a home on Horseneck Road.

He allegedly entered the home through an unlocked door and was in the homeowner’s bedroom holding a bottle of vodka. The homeowner was able to get the man out of the house.

During the investigation police also discovered a single vehicle crash that had just occurred in the area of the residence, with the vehicle sustaining heavy front-end damage and debris was scattered across the roadway.

The suspect allegedly matched McNamara’s description in both cases.
