RIDOT opening new segment of roundabout near Henderson Bridge

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said it is planning to open a new segment of the roundabout near the Henderson Bridge in East Providence.

The new segment will provide a direct connection to North Broadway and is set to open on May 31.

RIDOT added the change will utilize the old Henderson Expressway and is the final leg of the roundabout to open.

Demolition of the old bridge will continue through 2024, and final completion of the project is expected for 2025.
