UPDATE: Coventry Paramedic in ‘good spirts’ after hit-and-run

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Western Coventry Fire Department confirmed that paramedic Miranda Hennessy is in “good spirits” and is hoping to be discharged from the hospital in the next day or so.

Miranda Hennessy, a resident of Fall River and a paramedic serving in Coventry, was struck by a car on Wednesday night when she and another paramedic were responding to a medical call around 9 p.m.

Both were taken to the hospital.

Hennessy was reported to have sustained major injures.

The other is paramedic is also recovering in the hospital.

The “Fall River EMS Hope Foundation” is looking to raise funds for the the woman who was seriously injured during a hit-and-run on Wednesday.

According to the fundraiser, Hennessy is the mom of young children and recently had surgery Thursday in result of her injuries.

The EMS Foundation is accepting donations for Hennessy through Venmo, and 100 percent of the donations will be going to her.
