Two Rhode Island physical therapists put on probation after filing false reports

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two physical therapist assistants have been put on probation after filing reports for patients they did not treat, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.

In the disciplinary actions sent to ABC6, Megan Chouinard and Bradley Roberts, both licensed physical therapists in the state of Rhode Island, were placed on probation by RIDOH on May 28.

According to RIDOH, their actions “constitutes unprofessional conduct pursuant to the Physical Therapy Statute, the Physical Therapy Regulations, and the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) Coe of Ethics).”

According to the disciplinary actions, both have the right to have a hearing and take an appeal from the terms of the order.

They will also be expected to complete 6 hours of continuing education on topics of Ethics and Billing conducted in person or with live access to the presenter of the class.

The documents do not provide where both therapists were working at the time.
