Police: Man surrenders after cash register theft in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A suspect has turned himself into police after allegedly stealing the cash register at David’s Kitchen in Woonsocket on May 29.

Shawn M. Carmen, 46, of Woonsocket surrendered to the Woonsocket police station on Sunday and confessed to stealing the register, citing his family telling him that he was being prominently featured on the news.

Carmen has been charged with larceny of less than $1,500 and also had a Warwick warrant for shoplifting.
