Fall River fire displaces two families

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Fire Department responded Saturday morning to a 65 Cherry Street for a reported structure fire.

The blaze was reported by at 6:46 a.m. by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the multifamily building and seven units responded to the first alarm.

A hose line was deployed on the second floor apartment of the building, and heavy smoke and fire were contained in the kitchen before it was extinguished.

No injuries were reported and the fire cause $30,000 in damage.

The fire displaced two families including four adults and no children.
