Suspect in bludgeoning, stabbing murder of estranged wife convicted

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Providence man was convicted in Providence County Superior Court for murdering his estranged wife in 2017.
Bosco Tukamuhabwa, 53, was found guilty of one count of domestic second-degree murder and one count of domestic criminal violation of a no contact order in the murder of Maniriho Nkinamubanzi, 44.
The incident occurred on November 9, 2017 when the victim’s children reported her missing to Providence police.
The children found their deceased mother in a bedroom closet the following day.
Police were called to the scene and determined that the victim showed signs of blunt force trauma as well as multiple stab wounds.
Blood spatter was also found on the wall outside of the closet.
An analysis of the Tukamuhabwa’s cell phone placed him in the vicinity of the victim’s home at the time of her murder.
19 items from both the crime scene and defendant’s residence were tested for DNA including several bloodstained items containing DNA from both the defendant and victim.
There had been a prior incident of physical violence in April of 2017 which prompted the no contact order.
“While nothing can undo the pain of losing their mother, I hope that this verdict will bring Ms. Nkinamubanzi’s children some semblance of peace, and the sense that justice has finally been served,” said Attorney General Neronha.
