Police investigating fatal crash in Stoughton on New Year’s Eve

STOUGHTON, MASS (WLNE) – Troopers assigned to State Police-Milton responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on Route 24 on Thursday night.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the accident happened approximately at 11:30 PM and resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

A preliminary investigation by police indicates that a Nissan was traveling southbound on the highway, lost control, and struck a guardrail prior to Exit 20.

The Nissan then struck a Honda Accord, where the driver suffered minor injuries.

The operator of the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Brandon Rose of Boston, left his vehicle and was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Rose died in the second collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
