Man injured in New Year’s Day shooting in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – Fall River Police are currently investigating a shooting on Lawrence Street.

Fall River Police Lieutenant Jay Huard said a man was shot in the groin area on Friday night at 227 Lawrence Street.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

Police said approximately 10 rounds were reported fired from a vehicle that fled the scene.

On Saturday, Haurd said the victim is now in stable condition.

The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to call Fall River Police Department at (508)-676-8511.
