Exeter firefighters rescue woman with broken leg on hiking trail

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Exeter Volunteer Fire Department said that it rescued a woman who broke her leg while at the Arcadia Management Area on June 8.

The department said the woman was around a half mile into the woods on John B. Hudson Hiking Trail, which required a “lengthy search” as three trails have the same name.

The woman was stabilized and transported out of the woods using a firefighter’s personal ATV and to hospital.
