Octavia Spencer to be honored at the 25th Pell Awards in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The 2024 Trinity Rep’s Pell Awards will happen tonight in Providence.

The 25th ceremony, which will take place at the Lindemann Performing Arts Center at Brown University, have celebrated national and local excellence in the arts.

Actress Octavia Spencer is expected to attend, as she will be presented as a lifetime achievement in the arts.

Other individuals being honored include visual artist  Bob Dilworth, historical preservationist Chuck Royce, and Brown University President Christina Paxson.

The reception will begin at 6 p.m.
