Child hit by car in Taunton, flown to hospital

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — An 11-year-old child was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car Monday evening in Taunton.

The Taunton Police Department said responding crews found the child on Whittenton Street around 7:20 p.m.

The child was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence by a medical helicopter.

ABC 6 crews on-scene saw evidence markers surrounding a car on Whittenton Street.

Police said the driver of the car stayed on scene and provided a statement.
