WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A man convicted of killing a Boston police officer will be arraigned in court today for alleged first-degree robbery and felony assault.

60-year-old Joshua McCullough, also known as Terrell Muhammad, was arrested back in March for allegedly attempting to rob a Citizens Bank on Charles Street in North Providence.

Officers were called to the bank after a victim said she was attempting to deposit approximately $12,665 for her employer when she was punched in the chest by a man who stole the deposit bag.

Police said the suspect was identified as McCullough through surveillance video.

McCullough is being charged with first-degree robbery and felony assault.

McCullough’s criminal history also includes a 6-year prison term served in connection with a 1986 shooting death of a store clerk.

He served 15 years in prison for the death of a Boston police officer in 1993, and was arrested in 2009.
