HomeGoods to open in Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — HomeGoods shoppers will finally have a store in Middletown.
The store, owned by TJX Companies, will be a stand-alone store at RK Plaza, which used to be a former Bed Bath & Beyond.
According to representative Arielle Abramek, the TJ Maxx in Newport on O’Connell Highway will convert to a stand-alone TJ Maxx store and will remain open while renovations take place.
Currently, O’Connell Highway has a joint HomeGoods and TJ Maxx store.
“We are grateful for the patronage of our Newport customers and believe they will continue to find great values at our new store and our nearby stores,” said Abramek.
80 associates will have the opportunity to transfer over to the new store or remain in the current store, according to Abramek.
The grand opening is set for Thursday, June 20.
