Severe Weather Watch
Friday wraps up the workweek with a boost in heat and humidity. Sunshine through the early afternoon will see temperatures climb into the 80s inland and mid-70s along the coast. It will be muggy with higher humidity as well. Into this soup, we will bring a cold front this evening and through tonight. As a result look for showers and thunderstorms, a few of which will have the potential to be severe. Our primary concerns are downpours leading to flash flooding, frequent lightning and damaging winds. We also have a slight chance of some hail. Clouds hang on to start off Saturday as the last of the front clears Southern New England. Expect increasing sunshine and decreasing humidity. This combination will make for a splendid weekend for Dads as both Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny and comfortable with highs in the 70s. Turning the corner into next week we will have a big increase in temperatures and humidity. We are expecting the 90s by midweek and have a real shot at a heat wave as the heat sticks around through the end of the week.
