RIPTA service to run holiday schedule in observance of Juneteenth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a holiday schedule in honor of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth National Independence Day is June 19.

The Sunday/Holiday schedule will apply to all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys, according to a recent release.

RIPTA offices will be closed, except for the RIde Paratransit Office and the Customer Service Kiosk in the Newport Transportation Center.

Flex Services will not be available on Juneteenth, except for Route 203 (URI/Narragansett/South Kingstown), which will run on the Sunday schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) will not be staffed on Juneteenth.
