Swansea hosts 2nd Sandcastle Festival

SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) — The Town of Swansea hosted its second annual Sandcastle Festival on Father’s Day, June 16.

Steve Topazio of Santasia, a sand sculptre company located in Tiverton, said the contest was a success “out of the gate” when it started last year.

“Overall it’s a great day,” he said. “It’s mostly families.”

Medals for the first, second, and third best sculpture were given out, as well as trophies for the different teams.

“I try to push to have the kids do most of the work,” Topazio laughed.

The event also featured music and food trucks.
