7 people shot during party in Methuen

METHUEN, Mass. (WLNE) — Multiple people were shot on Sunday during a “pop-up” party in Methuen Sunday, according to a report from WCVB.

According to Methuen police Chief Scott McNamara, officers responded to the area after 911 callers reported a shooting in the area.

Seven people were shot, with one suffering serious injuries to the head while trying to flee the scene.

Officers said the victims range in age from 17 to 23, and five of the seven victims are in stable condition, according to the district attorney.

McNamara said the shooting happened during a spontaneous meetup organized through social media.

No arrests have been made at this time.
