Rhode Island to announce mini grants for outdoor public programming

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee will announce grant awards in honor of Rhode Island’s Placemaking Initiative.

The mini grants, according to a recent release, will support outdoor and public space event programming that takes place during the summer months with grants between $25,000 to $50,000.

Nonprofit organizations, chambers of commerce, municipalities, business cooperatives, tourism regions, and arts/cultural institutions were eligible to submit to the following projects;

  • Outdoor performances
  • Outdoor food festivals
  • Art and lighting installations

The grants are under the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Rhode Island Rebounds Placemaking Initiative.
