Volunteers spruce up Slater Middle School

PAWTUCKET, RI (WLNE) – Aging buildings are getting some much-needed attention as a group of volunteers help transform one local middle school, just in time for the new school year.

The Slater Middle School is getting a makeover. Volunteers are painting, repainting classrooms, painting murals, and even building benches.

Grace Peloquin is the team leader for the project, along with 75 volunteers from Fidelity Investments.

They have been working on Slater Middle School for the past six summers.

The school’s Prinicipal says the transformation has been wonderful. The volunteers creating these positive murals hoping to uplift students when they walk through the doors in just a few weeks.
