Free student summer meals to be provided by RIDE

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Education announced Tuesday that its annual Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will be coming to Rhode Island communities in the coming weeks.
Free meals will be served to Rhode Island students with this program, and kickoff events will be held in three communities.
“The Summer Food Service Program helps us combat hunger and better support students. I encourage students across the state to visit a meal site and to help spread the word about this important program,” said Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee.
There is no registration necessary, and there are no income requirements to participate in the program.
