911 system restored in Massachusetts

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Officials say the 911 system in Massachusetts has been restored.

Massachusetts State Police said the public may now resume calling 911 for emergencies.

Several agencies across the state put out notices Tuesday afternoon sharing that their 911 lines were down due to a “technical issue affecting public safety answering points.”

Authorities said the Massachusetts State 911 Department will continue to investigate the cause of the disruption.
