Police investigating shooting in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday in Pawtucket.

The Pawtucket Police Department said a man was shot at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and West Avenue.

Officers responded around 2:45 p.m. locating a crime scene with shell casings and blood on the ground, according to authorities.

Police said the man was taken to an area hospital by friends, adding that detectives are actively investigating the incident.
