Another stifling day Thursday before changes into the weekend

Day 2 of our likely official heat wave is in the books.

The Heat Advisory remains in effect through Thursday evening as the heat and humidity will peak. We expect 90-95 for those away from the water, with a heat index between 95 and 102.

Hey, it’s the first day of summer after all. The solstice occurs at 4:51 pm.

A slow-moving cold front drops south through New England on Friday afternoon, which will break the heat as of showers and thunderstorms move through. A few could be strong.

The weekend will feature cooler air, but the humidity remains. Both Saturday and Sunday will top out in the low 80s. Each day is expected to be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of a shower.

Another cold front approaches on Monday, which could bring some stronger thunderstorms. This will break the humidity for the midweek, but the temperatures begin to rise once again.
