WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Two years after a gruesome murder in Woonsocket, neighbors can finally breathe a sigh of relief, now that two suspects have been arrested.

23-year-old Tyler Grenon and his friend, 20-year-old Matthew Dusseault, are behind bars, charged with murder in the stabbing death of 81 year old Constance Gauthier.

Grenon was not just Gauthier’s neighbor, but according to his father, she tutored him. Police say they had a very close relationship and that she was like a grandmother to him.

Back then, Grenon told police he discovered Gauthier’s body through a window under her mattress. Police say he seemed like he was a concerned neighbor trying to help.

The home was ransacked, made to look like a robbery, and riddled with forensic evidence.

After almost 2.5 years, a break  led police to Dusseault and Grenon. who had moved to Attleboro shortly after the investigation began.

Police haven’t established a motive yet and they’re not ruling out the possibility of any other suspects.

Grenon’s father told ABC6 off-camera that his son is not a murderer.
