Man in critical condition after Providence stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A victim is in critical condition after being stabbed Tuesday night in Providence.
Around 9:19 p.m. Tuesday night, Providence Police responded to stabbing reports at two separate locations. For the first call, Police responded to Bernon Street and Candace Street. For the second, they were dispatched to 67 Lydia Street.
At the 67 Lydia Street residence, Police encountered Samuel Holder, 39, who was on the floor of the living room with multiple stab wounds to his head, back, and chest. Police officers at Bernon and Candace encountered the scene of the stabbing itself.
A witness familiar to the victim was home Tuesday night when she heard Holder yelling outside of her door to let him in. According to the Witness’s discussion with Police, when the witness opened the door, Holder stumbled into her home with stab wounds. The Witness dialed 911.
Holder was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
As of now, police have not released information about a suspect.
