CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Kenneth J. Hopkins formally filed his declaration of candidacy for re-election for mayor of Cranston Monday.

He appeared at the Board of Canvassers to file the declaration for republican nominee.

Hopkins will be facing opponent Rep. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung for the republican nomination.

Democratic City Councilman Robert Ferri declared his candidacy in February,
