Friends create GoFundMe for man who died at Last Resort in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — Friends of a man who drowned last week at Last Resort in Smithfield are trying to get him back to his parents.
Souleymane “Jules” Diagne died last week after officials removed him from the pool, unresponsive.
Diagne was declared dead on-scene after authorities attempted life saving measures.
In a GoFundMe, an individual by the name of Alain Edouard, who identified himself as Diagne’s guardian, said that he lost a caring friend, a genuine human being.
“Your help will be greatly appreciated to send Jules back to his mom and dad,” he wrote.
Diagne is originally from Senegal in West Africa.
“All proceeds will be given to the family,” he said.
According to the GoFundMe, his service will be held on June 30.
