Coventry to begin work on Centre of New England Boulevard

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of Coventry has announced that they will begin reconstruction of the Centre of New England Boulevard.

Paving is set to begin on Monday, July 8, according to an announcement on Facebook.

According to town council members, the Centre of New England Boulevard has been a problem for over 3o years.

However, Coventry is set to receive over $500 million in taxable assets which will help pay for the reconstruction, and will help bring businesses to the area.

According to the town, they will  be in frequent communication with developer and their paving contractor in terms of details around the timeline and traffic pattern while reconstruction occurs.
