UPDATE: Suspects arrested for 2008 Taunton homicide held without bail

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Two men have arrested in the 2008 Taunton homicide of Kevin and Shawn Vargas have been held without bail, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.

Steven Fordham, 38, of Taunton and Kaylen Scott, 36, of Worcester were arrested by Massachusetts State Police in connection to the case.

Both suspects have been charged with two counts of murder.

Shawn and Kevin Vargas were fatally shot in Kevin Vargas’ Taunton apartment on February 24, 2008 at approximately 2 p.m.

Shawn Vargas’ two and four-year-old sons were also present during the shooting but were unharmed.

Fordham and Scott will be arraigned in Fall River Superior Court Friday morning on these indictments.
