National Weather Service upgrades Southern New England storm threat
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The National Weather Service said that it has upgraded Southern New England to an enhanced risk level due to expected storms.
The enhanced level is the third of five possible risk levels.
NWS said that damaging wind from storms in the afternoon are the primary threat, but large hail and an isolated tornado are also possible.
A severe storm watch is in effect for the area until 7 p.m.
