Where to celebrate the Fourth of July in Southern New England

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — With just one day away, celebrations for Fourth of July are already underway in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

From music, fireworks, parades, and more – there’s festivities happening all across Southern New England.

Here are a list of celebrations in the area throughout the week.

In Rhode Island: 

Cumberland

The town will hold their Fourth of July celebration at Tucker Field starting at 5 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Bristol 

Bristol will hold its annual fireworks display on July 3 at 9:30 p.m. at Bristol Harbor. The following day, the town will hold its iconic parade, “Military, Civic, and Firemen’s Parade,” that will start at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Chestnut Street and Hope Street.

East Providence 

East Providence will have a fireworks show at Pierce Memorial Stadium on July 3, with gates opening at 6 p.m. There will be music, concessions, and more!

Narragansett 

The annual fireworks celebration will be held at the town beach on July 3, with fireworks being set off at dusk.

Jamestown 

Beavertail State Park will host “quiet fireworks” for those with sensory sensitivities on July 4 at 9:15 p.m. On July 7, the town will also celebrate the Fourth with a concert, set to start at 7 p.m. at East Ferry Beach, and fireworks at 9 p.m.

North Kingstown 

The town will host its annual Fourth of July celebration with a music performance from the Lafayette Band at 7 p.m., on July 3, with fireworks to follow at North Kingstown Town Beach.

Pawtucket 

The celebration on July 3 will be held at Joseph Jenks Middle School. The event starts at 6 p.m. with food trucks, music, and family-friendly activities.

Scituate 

Hope Jackson Fire Department will host the annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3, with the event starting at 5 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

Woonsocket 

The city will hold its annual fireworks celebration with live music, activities, and food at World War II Memorial Park starting at 4 p.m. on July 3. Fireworks will be set off at 9 p.m.

Warwick 

Fireworks can be seen from Oakland Beach starting at 9 p.m. on July 3.

Block Island 

The city will host its annual parade on July 4 starting at 11 a.m., the theme is “Our History, Our Future.”

Coventry 

Fireworks can be seen anywhere along Johnson’s Pond starting at 9:30 p.m. on July 4.

Glocester 

On July 4, the town will hold a road race starting at 9 a.m., and Fourth of July festivities will begin at 4 p.m. on Main Street for the town’s 98th annual Ancients and Horribles Parade.

Newport 

Fireworks can be seen anywhere on the Newport Harbor on July 4, starting at 9:15 p.m.

South Kingstown 

A Fourth of July celebration will take place at Old Mountain Field starting at 5 p.m. on July 4 in Wakefield. There will be music, concessions, and fireworks.

Portsmouth 

The annual fireworks display will be held at Escobar Farm starting at 9:15 p.m.

In Massachusetts: 

Fall River 

Gates open for the Fourth of July celebration at 7:30 p.m. along the Taunton River on July 4. Tickets are now SOLD OUT. “Live events” will be featured before fireworks at 9 p.m.

New Bedford 

The firework’s display will be set off from a barge off the State Pier in New Bedford starting at 9 p.m. on July 4.

Seekonk 

The Seekonk Speedway’s Independence Day Thrill Show will be held on July 6 starting at 5 p.m. You can get tickets here. 

Attleboro 

A laser show will be held at Attleboro High School before fireworks on July 6. Gates open at 7 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m.
