Fire breaks out on fireworks barge in Marblehead
MARLBLEHEAD, Mass. (WLNE) — A fireworks barge caught on fire around 1 a.m. this morning at the mouth of the Marblehead Harbor.
According to the Marblehead Fire Department; Beverly Fire Department, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and U.S. Coast Guard Station Gloucester were all on scene.
Tonight’s fireworks are cancelled as a result, according to the “Marblehead Fireworks” Twitter page.
In the post, the page shared that the Fire Marshal would no longer allow the vendor to perform any fireworks, until the cause of the fire was discovered.
We are sorry to have to announce that the Marblehead Fireworks 2024 are canceled.
