Providence Emergency Management Agency to conduct test

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Emergency Management Agency will be conducting a test activation of the Port of Providence Emergency Siren Warning System today.

According to a release, the test is to ensure a proper functioning of the sirens and the system control panels associated with them.

The test will happen at 12 p.m.

Officials said residents do not need to take any action during this test.

The alert will be followed with the message, “this is a test of the emergency management public warning system. This is only a test.”
