Mass State Police investigating fatal crash in Weston

WESTON, MASS (WLNE) – Massachusetts State Troopers (Weston) are investigating a fatal crash involving a car and tractor trailer.
Police responded to the Mass Turnpike eastbound at Exit 123 (former Exit 14) in Weston at 1:52 AM.
An investigation indicates that a Toyota Camry with a male driver was traveling eastbound and entered the exit ramp, and straddled both lanes.
According to police, a tractor-trailer was traveling in the same direction in the left lane of the exit.
The Toyota struck the right rear of the trailer, with its driver’s side partially under rider the trailer.
They continued to travel a short distance before the Toyota eventually broke free.
The operator of the Toyota, identified as a 30-year-old man from Ashland, was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the ramp to Exit 123 was closed until 4:15 AM.
No further information is being released at this time.
