UPDATE: Driver charged in Falmouth crash

FALMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — A driver has been charged after crashing into a home in Falmouth overnight.
According to a Facebook post, fire and rescue was dispatched around 2:30 a.m. to find a mid-sized SUV in the kitchen of a single-family cape-style home on E. Falmouth Highway.
The driver of the vehicle had already exited the vehicle, and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
With full intrusion into the structure, there was significant damage to the vehicle and home, including an active water leak, electrical hazards, and structural compromise.
Falmouth officials said the driver of the car was officially charged with OUI (Liquor), Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Stop Sign Violation, Speeding, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of Property Damage.
According to police, the property was also the site of a fatal crash which took the life of the vehicle operator in August of 2021.
The operator of the car will be summoned to court for the charges.
